What type of formatting is better for background recovery?

I had a problem beside dell Laptop. When I was using WMP it get stuck in the middle of a song. Then it said that I call for to use chkdsk for checking error in disks. I did so. When it started checking it started delete automatically all the files. and delete everything from my OS partition. Now it have nothing contained by it. When I booted into UBCD4win that I created before, it is showing as a 10 MB hedge. When checked using a partition representative it is showing that the remaining space are unallocated now. So the individual option that I hold now is installing a different OS on the same barrier.

Now can anyone tell me which one would be better method for formatting FAT32 or NTFS if am going to use facts recovery software to recover my lost files......

Thanks in credit
"> Don't formatt if you don't have to, install it on an unused space (I consider you can make a divider from the installation screen). Formatting will delete all of the background, so try not to do that.
