Acer recovery compact disc will erase adjectives the information on the HD?

is it true? i wanna reinstall winXP but i dont wanna lose the data.
Answers:
surrounded by an acer recovery cd, it will reformat the hard drive to its factory state when you have first bought the laptop. Be careful though! If you use the disc instead of the EISA partition, or "recovery" drive, the Recovery disc will erase all the recovery facts that is on the recovery divider. It happened to me!
Most of the answers you've gotten are correct! However, on some (XP)computers the d: drive (Recovery) can be used within a non-destructive restore. This will not destroy your files, might mess up a program or two, and is structly used to modify the comps guts not walk back to ground zilch!
You should check with Acer or read the encyclopaedia. There are some recovery cd's that have the pick to do a repair operation without bringing your laptop back to an past its sell-by date the shelf state. They are actually easier to use than finding the repair installation picking from the windows cd.. but that works capably everytime.

When in doubt, put money on up all valueable facts on removeable media first, after try the restore. Remember to export any e-mail, financial data, contacts, favorites, docs, mp3's, etc...

Sometimes it is nice to walk back to a strange state for performance reason - your pc will be similar to new. Just rear legs up first and double check everything. Make sure you will be able to re-install your vital apps after the recovery.
True this disk will return the computer to the setup it had when it be shipped from the factory.
If the computer is still operable, do a backup of all the background files you want to save and consequently use the disk.
This is the reason that computer techs are other telling you to backup your files.
vertebrae up all your prominent data onto a cd or dvd, the restore cd will give up your computer as if you just bought it
Yes it's true, it restores your HD to exactly similar to it was when you bought it. Back your information up to CD/DVD disks. Or get a USB/Firewall external HD and wager on all your background to it.
I use an External D: drive for data. That instrument the data is not detrimental no mater what I do on the Windows C drive. :)
True...its is likely it will replace adjectives of the data on the HD and return your computer to its resourceful state when you first received it.....

UNLESS you have an actuall Windows XP disc....which contained by case you can "Repair" your Windows files and it will not touch your personal information
thats what a recovery CD does! It re-installs your full computer, thus deleting adjectives your personnal files. You must make sure you store your files on other tough drives or on disks so you wont loose your files. Or if your lucky, some recovery systems allow to keep adjectives your files, just adjectives in one folder.
