Can I use facts recovery software to recover lost information [images] metaphors from a compact flash card?
I use a [Toshiba 1GB] compact flash card in my Nikon D2X and the first time I go to download the images, to my horror, in that was nought there. I be able to playback the metaphors on my camera at first, but now, I no longer can. I know a compact flash uses memory on a chip as upposed to a tricky drive, which stores data magnetically on a disc. But is it still possible to recover information from one?

Hi, I recommand you to try google picasa.
picasa is a Google's photo software. It's what should've come next to your camera.
It can Edit , organise and Share you picture and small video flips.
It's very trouble-free to use and is free, just similar to Google
Download it free in here:

Do you hold a card reader that you can be sure the files are not there anymore? If so, you may want to try this.

If you enjoy a flash card reader on for your computer you can make use of notes recovery software such as StompSoft's Recover Lost Data. I have used this application several times immediately to recover images lost on my cameras flash card memory. So, I'm pretty sure that this will work for you as all right.
