Hard drive background recovery?
Ok one of my friends told me there be an off the shelf thingy you could buy to in fact take the notes off a strong drive platter, but it renders the platter unusable afterward. Is this true? Anyone heard of this? If so what is it call and where can i carry it? Thanks everyone!

No, I haven't. Even the smallest speck of dust can ruin a hard drive platter BTW.
