Failed notes recovery on unyielding drive=Damaged platters. No hope?
A client of mine had his rock-hard drive sent to an expensive data recovery center, and they said no luck because the controller arm fell against the platters, destroying the information. Should I send the concrete drive to another data recovery center for a second inference?
Answers:
If the platters have be severely scratched. There's nothing anybody can do. Wouldn't hurt to attain a second opinion newly to confirm the damage. I used this place a few times. No charge to look at it.

Data recovery seem to be a one time deal, you habitually just find one shot. It would likely be fritter away of money.
You could, but it seems close to it is lost.
