Is near any free intricate drive information recovery software out within?
i used a package a friend loaned me but it doesnt display recovered facts in a common format, like my documents, my pictures etc..
it merely shows thousands of small folders from the sectors of the disk, my files are adjectives over the place.. how can i get my files rear legs? thanks!

If you are using windows after the first thing you should try is CHKDSK. This can be run any from the command line or by right-clicking on the drive, select Properties, then the Tools tab.
Don't count on free tools. HD recovery is serious business. I own found SpinRite to be invaluable for many HD recovery tasks.
If your friend's software in fact repaired your disk rather than newly reporting proposed repairs, then you are stuck beside lots of little files and folders. Depending on the fragmentation of your drive, consecutive files may be concatenated back into the imaginative. You'll probably have to examine the files near a hex-editor to determine first and last files.
