Data Recovery. Hard Drive won't start up, singular 2 months hoary and make a clicking swish.?
I need to know if this is an confident problem to fix or if there is a cheap method under $500(AU) to capture the data spinal column. It is an 80GB hard drive near less than 25GB of notes. Would software recovery work? Or is it a mechanical problem?
It is a SATA tough drive out of a laptop. I have attempted to plug it within using an external hard drive covering but nothing be detected... please please help!!

I realise it's possibly too late for that disk, but you should enjoy a backup strategy that meets your requirements - most of the time, week old facts is better than nothing at adjectives. AND having a slightly passé address book on the backups is your best substitute (ye Gods, I don't know what I'd do if I lost that).

SATA has no problem it is hot swappable which scheme it can be add/remove without turning rotten the power.
we could not discount the possibility that the drive is damaged.
if it be a mechanical problem afterwards the best way to do is own it recovered using low level technique but you have to put out some brass.
for software recovery, the reliability of the recovered files is not reliable enough but they do hold a chance.

Probably it's a mechanical irregularity either due to desperate manufacturing or due to a direct shock to the grip or Hard Drive.
If your BIOS can see your hard drive, consequently nothing wrong beside the electronic board (Hopefully)
The problem is that you cannot boot from that external hard drive and cannot see it's contents, check the connecting cable, AND evolution your place, it could be a noisy environment beside bad shielding cable.

What I would do is download Knoppix Linux Live, which is an OS that runs rotten a disk. Insert that and see if you can see the data. If so, attain yourself a flash drive or external drive (if it is a large amount of notes you wish to recover) and simply copy the information to the flash drive or external drive using Knoppix. Personally, I would buy a Knoppix DVD rather than linger for it to download. There are CD version of Knoppix too. You need to be capable of burn either one. Just do a turn out and you will find it.

If it's clicking or making noise that's a mechanical damp squib. Not much you can do on your own unless you have your own verbs room. If you can live without the information, it return the drive for warranty.
