Hard Drive Data recovery Help...!?
My hard drive merely decided to come to nothing. the thing still works, but window doesn't even recognize it anymore. A friend of mine worked on it for adjectives of five seconds and discovered that the database system read RAW instead of the original NTFS I formatted it next to. I've search the internet for background recovery software, however, the price tag doesn't form things any easier. I don't want to be cheap or anything, I'll pay the money...but I'm wondering is near a freeware or open source program out in attendance that will do everything that the retail data recovery program can do?
For example: there's a program call GetDataBack that will restore my files...but is there a free program that will do adjectives GetDataBack (or equivalent) can do?
I'm just curious..
Thanks :)

Take a look at RIP Linux

I've used it several times to recover information.
What you will NOT get beside any "free" software, as opposed to paying money for something is any "undemanding point and click" interfaces...
Research this page for a program called Hiren's boot cd.

You can try to recover your notes with Easy Drive Data Recovery:

It uses characteristic modern algorithms to recover files that other software either recovers incorrectly or is incompetent to detect.
I doubt that there is anything departed if you overwrote it. srry
