Can someone suggest how to carry out USB notes recovery?
I use my Apple iPod Shuffle as a memory stick. It was working fine yesterday. Today, it asks to be formatted. Last point that I did systems-wise was Windows Update, Java update and a couple of reboots while the stick be plugged in.
Below is what Disk investigator shows. Maybe undetected sectors is a clue that the background is still there.

Tried downloading "encopy", a notes recovery software but when I click on the stick drive, it asks to be formatted. I can't get contained by to attempt recovery.
Can someone provide a solution, please?
