I formatted my computer near a recovery disk and very soon i can't update my computer.?

my computer had a serious virus so i established to use the recovery disk i was asked to take home when i first got my computer. it did not consent to me do a repair recovery so i formatted my computer. and now when i try to update my computer to SP3 it can download it and install in the middle but then fail. i also tryed to install internet explorer 8 but it said it failed to update. any support?

I have window xp media center edition SP2.

I have the same problem near my Media Center PC and I had to completion up calling Microsoft to go through a guide activation process. Call them!

you might need other updates installed up to that time installing sp3 or IE8

run Windows Update, see what it says
