How do i use the recovery disks that are made when you first buy a computer?
I have an hp laptop that requirements to be refreshed because of virus or something. How do i use the backup or recovery disks?

Pop the first disk into the cd drive turn off the computer next turn it on when it boots the cd boot menue will come up and ask u about erasing and formating. and nearby u go
In my Toshiba I would insert the disc confer it a second or two to let the drive read it. Do a restart and start hitting F-12 now. I want to get to the peak that will let me boot from the dvd drive. When I attain to that screen I enjoy to use my arrow up or down buttons to select the dvd drive and then I hit enter. From that point on I only follow the instructions. I have 2 discs and it will bring up to date me when to put in the second one. It take 2 hours, for mine, start to finish not including reloading all my files, software, and microsoft updates. Shrek have a good point of trying to slaughter the virus first even though I think reinstalling an OS is no big accord. Remember that you will lose all your files so posterior them up if necessary. before trying that, try using a virus and spyware remover. There are masses free ones and trial ones available. Also when using them they are best served on safe mode. I've removed frequent virus that couldn't be removed, even hi-jacks in protected mode. That should be your last resort. anyway if you already done that, I'm sorry, lately a suggestion.
