Can you download Windows 7 (upgrade from Vista) lacking have recovery disks?
My Windows 7 came within the mail today (finally, it lone took 3 months for a ground ship) and it says that I should enjoy recovery disks for Vista before downloading 7. I know how to download them but I don't own DVDs handy. I was wondering if I could download WIndows 7 lacking recovery disks for Vista.
"> Assumably you mean if you can install Windows 7, not download it. Since you received discs, you shouldn't hold any need to "download" Windows 7.
You should know how to install what you received as-is. If it's an upgrade version you merely need to do it to the drive you hold Vista on already.
They'd want you to have recovery discs within case anything go significantly wrong though.
Most people don't hold problems, however, so if you're comfortable taking your chances, you should be capable of install as-is.
Hello Alex,
If you are performing an upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 you should be ok. If you ever want to uninstall windows 7 for any source you will need your inspired vista disks to complete. For a step-by-step guide to upgrading go here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windo…
