Restore Windows Vista minus disc or Recovery disk (HP 530)?
I got my laptop 2 years ago, and its still running great, merely a little slower than when i get it, and now nearby is so much crap and a folder that i can not delete on my desktop(my brother renamed it using ascii for a null space, and no matter what i try i cant rename it or remove it) and it have become quite irritating.. along near other issues i just want a verbs slate...
I love HP but they decided to not include a vista compact disc with the darn article, and i don't have any restore points that far stern =[
I'm just wondering if near is a way to restore stern to default settings, almost similar to a clean install. I've be told there is a style, but ive tried numerous things and none have be successful.

If you've been aid up on an external hard drive or cds etc using window backup, it will be easy.
Go to Control Panel, System and Maintenance, and below backup and restore click Restore files from backup.
You may also have a program similar to Norton which has backup included. If so, you requirement to restore from there.
Try this first. Download and install Glary Utilities from http://www.glaryutilities.com/gu.html
Aside from it's uncluttered features it also has a wallet shredder tool which can also erase a folder containing several files. See if works. Remember, once you shred the files, they won't be recoverable in any route anymore.
As for the Recovery Disk, you will have to writ it from HP.
Ensure that System Restore is enabled by clicking "Start>Control Panel>Performance and Maintenance." Select the "System Restore" tab. Under "Available Drives," see if the drive you want to restore is being monitored. Ensure that the "Turn stale System Restore on All Drives" check box is not checked.
Select "Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore." This will open the System Restore Wizard fanlight. Select the check box next to "Restore my computer to an ahead of time time." Click "Next."
Click on a date on the calendar that is at smallest 1 day surrounded by the past. In the pane on the right, select a restore point from the detail. Click "Next."
Save your work and close any programs you currently have running. Click "Next" to shut down Windows and restore your computer to an early state.

If Windows came pre-installed next you probably have your Windows installation files on a masked partition. Have a look for a small fence in Disk Management via Administrative Tools contained by Control Panel.
Personally I wouldn't return to your factory settings but rather fix the problems one at a time. For instance the database you cannot delete. Can you not drag it to the Recycle bin?
You should be able to delete it using a command blind:
Start >> Run and type: cmd in the box and press OK.
immediately type the following:
cd "\Documents and Settings\Your User Name\Desktop"
The line above presumes the database is in the folder above.
If the directory is called something resembling: my stubborn file
next issue the command:
del "my stubborn file"
if that doesn't work then try escaping the spaces
del my\ stubborn\ folder
