Where can I win a recovery disk for XP ?
I contacted compaq and they want to sell me one. required to get one for free sooner.

You can search the internet and it might whip a while to both find it and then download it. Otherwise I am afraid that you will hold to let Compaq rip you bad.
The problem with those disks is that they are businessman specific. For example, if you have a compaq computer, a gateway disc from your friend is utterly useless. And not just any compact disc from Compaq, you need one specifically made for YOUR model. The principle for that is because of components (such as the Hard drive, the CD/DVD drives, speakers, monitor, etc...) used to build your computer. You entail the correct drivers for them. Otherwise, those components either will not work and will not work properly next to full functionality.
What I do is that I back up everything, erase my intricate drive completely, reinstall full version of window (which the recovery disk cannot do) and then restore my drivers and background.
If you want the recovery disk, I am assuming it is because you got a virus/spyware, or your computer is in recent times slow. Just to let you know the recovery disk will be useless contained by all of these cases. And i.e. because of how they work. A recovery disk just finds doesn`t matter what is missing and then replace it.
