I formatted my computer, and very soon my nouns device does not function and my inbuilt recovery disk does not work?

and therefore i dont know where on earth to find the sound driver. IT IS A HP-500 NOTEBOOK...working on window XP pro with 1.73GHz and it is pentium 4. pliz do refer me to a free downloaqd site.
