contained by this point you press enter.then it will automatically furrow your perviews OS and find your old OS contained by your abbrepriate drive latter.now it will grant another thre option similar to above.this point you press R key for recovering your OS.this type you havent obligation to reload all your software.

if you and interested to do after you put a 98-OS cd in your drive and goto command promt lone.and backup your data and drivers to logical (D-drive).and restart the system next you formatt your c-drive with xp OS.
The best road is to contact Dell on their web site or via phone and ask them to transport you a recovery disk for your model of laptop. Failing that, the next best point to do is to buy an operating system disk of the current system you are running or a new reworked copy, if your laptop will support it, and install that. Just pop the system disk in your compact disc or DVD drive and restart the computer. The on screen prompts will convey you what to do. Choose the options to create a hot install of the operating system and that will restore your laptop's core functions again. Then, you can go to Dell's website and download any drivers for the things that come with your laptop when you bought it (assuming you want them). Sometimes, I do a reinstall of the operating system on a unmarked computer just to go and get rid of all the unwanted items the computer makers give the impression of being to think we want on a laptop. Most of what they include can be had for free rotten the net or for a few bucks at a store (the shelf version are usually more fully featured than the stuff from the PC maker too). If you have any impressive data on your laptop, hindmost it up with blank CD's or DVD's or near USB drives first before you use the recovery disk or reinstall the operating system. Either method will delete the pictures, word files, etc. you've put on near.
If you want to do a system recovery you will have to buy a different disc from dell. Otherwise, go to the dell website and download adjectives the drivers for your various devices and burn them onto a disc and buy an OS and install the OS afterwards the drivers. You may want to try a system restore back as far as you can dance. A restore and a recovery are 2 different things.
