How do you use my recovery disks to reformat my hardrive?
My laptop which is a 2002 Toshiba Satellite is friggen dying, shutting down randomly and one of my friends suggested I reformat it to see if it help. I did do this a long time ago but it was two years ago and I can't remember how to do it.

i in actuality had to do this today... haha in good health i looked for the cd and couldnt find it so.... when the screen come up it said hp idk if urs does that but yeah underneath it said click f10 to restore computer or whatever and yeah presently it works good :]
of late put your cd restore and restar from the CD and follow instructions.
if u aint get cd restore now systems enjoy the recovery in invisible partition, if is yuor grip restar adn select recovery mode.

First if you have a Recovery compact disc, then 99% of your solution
is within that CD. It will prompt you as to the process.
Make really sure you set free anything important to a cd. Do you know how to do that?
Once you hold saved your exalted files then insert the recovery cd and follow the prompts that it give you. This will restore your computer to a status as the day you first received it.

Before recovery amass all central files, word documents and pictures etc.to CD for next installation, you will loose all these when you do a system recovery. Insert the recovery disc and follow all prompts and directions, you are reinstalling the operating system. I assume it is conceivably Windows XP, you will need the switch code on soft ware package and your registration and sketch information to do it right.
