How long should a recovery disk bring?
I was given two recovery disks near my Sony Vaio VGN-980 laptop from Staples; however, I've been switching between the two disks contained by Norton Ghost for well over 5 hours immediately. It seems approaching they burnt it so that I own to switch for every single file.

You're possibly looking at up to 12 hours. I've see these take up to 2 days. This is a moment ago to 'scan', this isn't to just recover. It's an intensive process.
Cal the manufacturer's tech support - sounds resembling the process failed, and sometimes the computers will not consent to you re-run it. But the tech support for the manufacturer can convey you a set of pre-made disks, if you pester them politely but firmly, they might want to charge you a small fee, but it would be worth it.....
