Recovery disk?
my friend has a computer to be exact pretty much virused beyond repair, so I suggested that he restore it. He got it privately, so it didn't come near a windows xp cd or a recovery cd. Is at hand any way that I can formulate a recovery CD for him, any by using my computer (which has window xp) or by downloading something from the internet that will allow him to restore his computer? Thanks.

Some computers use Norton Ghost to store the cd restore image on the recovery drive. I've be able to remove the tricky disk from the trashed pc, attach it to another dutiful, working system. Take a look at the recovery partition. Try to digit out what program they used to make the metaphors. I've seen vision images, wall magic similes, and others. Other than that, just stir cold turkey with xp and stir find all the drivers on your own.
If your PC have same specifications of hardware with his, i don't see any problem by using your driver disc. But for XP CD, you requirement to try whether his serial number can be used with your XP disc, because normally for OEM disc, the serial number must be match next to the correct CD so it's not newly any XP CD.
you can still buy XP cd's
and do a unprotected clean window install
but the first things to do are get a copy of
"Wipeout.exe"
this program zero the MBR unlike regular repartitioning / reformatting,
then if you can get hold of "Low Level" utilities for the Drive
ie for seagate / maxtor drives you get "Seatools"
etc.
within the drive utilities there should be an likelihood to "Zero Drive" / "Zero Fill Drive" etc. that basically writes every sector on the disk support to a "zero" wiping adjectives data including "leftovers" from virus, spyware, adware, worms, etc.
and because it's done from a boot disk and "nothing fill" is usually a function of the drive itself, virus etc. can't spread to the util. disk
once this is done then proceed beside a new installation of window.
you could temporarilly ghost your workstation and use "restore anyware" (not misspelled, that's the program)
and use that but if you leave it too long consequently the windows police will eventually say aloud that one or the other is not genuine etc.
anything way you stir about this he will lose adjectives installed programs he doesn't have install disks / downloads for
presence is a relatively inexpensive util.
& wipeout is free.
cheers
