Recovery process...non-system disk error...?
I have a Compaq desktop that have been have some system instability problems and it has be getting progressively worse the past couple of months. After funding up my data I attempted a recovery process from the desktop which resulted within an error. Analysis of the hard drives showed no problems...including the partitioned drive. My most up-to-date attempt has be to use the provided recovery disks and try to do a complete re-install. After a couple of minutes I get a "non-system disk error" and the re-install stops.
What should I do? Any suggestions?

Make sure that the recovery cd is for the system you are trying to work on. Also trademark sure that you do not have a floppy disk contained by your computer.
Disk = magnetic disk, approaching a floppy drive or hard drive. Disc = compact disc or DVD. If it was your disc it would have said "drive error" or "read error" or something similar. So you can rule out the possibility that it's your disc.
Non-system disk error means that something go wrong with the intricate drive that has nought to do with Windows. Which usually system the hard drive is going impossible, although it could be a failing power supply or motherboard. Any one of those would explain your system instability problems. I'm fairly sure you can't use the Recovery Console since you own a set of recovery CDs instead of an actual install disc. But if you do have the opportunity to enter the Recovery Console at some point then do that and type "chkdsk C: /r" (without the quotes) and hit enter. This will check the rugged drive for bad sector and fix any errors it comes across.
At this point I think it would be best to bring it to a computer shop if you can afford it. That or just buy a topical one.
This error usually means that you are not booting from bootable medium. Check your BIOS settings and be sure that the CD/DVD drive is included in the devices your computer checks at startup (I am assuming your recovery disk is a CD). If it is not piece of the list you will entail to add it so that your computer will look at the compact disc drive during startup for bootable media. Your recovery disc should be bootable media.

It could be that your disc is bad.
