Can i turn my XP into a Vista With a Vista Recovery Disk?
Well, I'm about to Restart my total computer, and i wanna have vista.
My Computer say it can suport Vista, so i think i can. My Best friend is letting me use his antediluvian recovery disk(he has Vista). I'm lately wondering would it work, and turn my old XP into the New Vista?

If you can even find the "recovery disc" to install would be surprising, since the discs are usually brand specific (i.e. hp, dell, compaq etc....)
Second, that disc is an OEM disc. OEM licenses can solely belong to one computer, and cannot be transfered to another computer under any circumstance. While a retail Vista license could be taken sour one computer and put on another
Third! Vista is GOOD. They record most of your computer info when you elicit your license each time. Like what type of computer, processor type/speed, size of intricate drive, video card, amount of ram. If you be to change any of the hardware on even a Vista local computer and re-installed the operating system later, you would truly have to ring up Microsoft to activate!
"My Best friend is letting me use his feeble recovery disk"
Recovery Disks are for one SPECIFIC Make & Model of PC. They can NOT be installed on any other hardware, and the "Activation Code" can never be used on any other PC, ever, without Microsoft's approval.
TIP: If your friend is describing you different, change friends.
There is no approach that that CD will turn your PC into Windows Vista. It will not work.
ably the answer is no because for installing vista you need the xp upgrade tackle or the vista installation Cd
