Answers:
on many laptops the d drive is simply for the recovery program and not for storage. try backing up to disc.
All right so if you enjoy data back on D:.. However, I'd suggest you to make another facts set on a DVD-R, as in luggage your HDD goes, you lose facts on D: too..
the disk capacity of Drive d:, what is it? I'm sure its not a problem if your window & program files are in c: & you enjoy data such as pics, songs etc on D:.. That ways your OS works fine, it get lots of swap file space & if you own to repair or re-install OS, your data would still be out of danger, provided you chose the right options..Most novice would not know how to work XP again w/o loosing data on D:..
About the restraining? Its safe to look right through it if you do not plan to add any more information on d:\
check for duplicate files.
if you have window.
click on start>search~then depending on what you store .try music/photos/films etc.
it is suprising how many multiple files you may find.
delete adjectives doubles+,
this should get you some memory backbone.
also in recovery check for multiple files~you may be making a fund up every time you add info.
hope this help
I would acquire a stand alone hard drive to put your backup on.
They are reasonable surrounded by price, usb connection, and will furnish you peace of mind. As Dan da man says. Mine happen to be a Seagate co-incidentally.
The best way to back-up your files is to put it onto an usb/network external concrete drive. It provides you more storage and more reliability of your files because if your laptop hard drive blows you enjoy everything or most things on your external hard drive. I suggest a Maxtor or Seagate strong drive.
The last item you want to do if stuff up your internal hard drive beside files because this make your PC run slower as you riddle it up
Hope this helps.
