How to format window vista minus using any installation compact disc or DVD or recovery disk?
My laptop is compaq presarior C700. This is a first hand laptop. When i bought it, it come with a disk that contained by the user guide that say it is a recovery disk. But the recovery disk does not work as i use the another computer to start the disk. There is nothing surrounded by the disk like a wallet or folder. I wish to format my laptop coz it is full of virus. pls relieve me to solve this. i appreciate it very much. Thanks unbelievably much.

As far as I know, recovery disks are only tailored for the specific device it is intended for. Mainly an OEM (one machine) OS (operating system) next to device specific drivers, etc. Recovery disks are generally a boot disk. Insert the recovery disk within and reboot your system.
If for some reason, the files are corrupted, you'll want to either contact the entrepreneur for another recovery disk or get your hand on a full OS. You can probably look up Linux (freeware/open source OS) and use that to format and install onto the laptop.
