What files on my computer should i vertebrae up in the past using recovery disk and how?

CPU is running slow lately and i'm in the mood to use my recovery disk to remove years of grime. the single problem is i have no view what files to back up. i know the essentials: my documents, picutres, and my music. although, i'm not sure how to do it. buy a cheap 50gb external hard-drive? help!

It depends on the size of your personal files. And those are mostly just what you entail to backup because software you can install again (although settings and such will need to be reset.)
I would suggest a flashdrive for your files if it's newly a few gigs.
