How to use recovery disks?

I want to reprogram my hp pavillion laptop so I inserted a recovery disk and clicked restart but nothing happen. Am i supposed to do other things before I click restart?
Answers:
dance into your BIOS - keep hitting "delete" (or doesn`t matter what F2, F4, or F9 key assigned to BIOS setup) when you boot up or restart the piece of equipment - and from there transformation the "boot disk priority" setting so that "cd-rom" is selected as device 1. Device 2 can be your not easy drive name.
Yes my Dear..u get 2 change d Boot disk priority...to Cd rom drive...In HP notebook it can b usually dne by pressing d F9 key when d HP logo is dispalyd jst b4 ur window strts booting..or go within d Bios settings n chnge it... Source(s): I did dat yday nite..
