Can i use a dell recovery disk on a Gateway?

I am assuming that i can't but it doest hurt to ask.

no no u cannot. deel computer > dell recovery. i learned the hardway...can u influence kaboom?

+Your assumption is correct. There is more on that disk than just the operating system. There are also drivers that are specific to a Dell computer. Additionally, the disk will probably "detect" that it is not a Dell contrivance and will not install.
