HP Recovery (D:) is full/low disk space but it's uniform.?

I tried backing up my files closing night but after a while it said the space is not satisfactory; now I catch the message that it is low on disk space and that I should free up some. If I open it, it's leave except for Recovery file. As per hp.com, I should do indistinguishable thing--open the drive and delete unnecessary files EXCEPT recovery. Well there's nothing contained by the drive except for that..?
Answers:
The second drive on most retail HP computers is intended to hold recovery files ONLY. You're not supposed to be adding things to it.

Also, it's a fence on the same harddrive as your C: drive. In other words, it's occupy the same physical space. You don't want to stern up to that drive anyway, because if your harddrive fails, both the original and the backups will be lost.

Consider purchasing an external harddrive.
Quit messing beside your recovery disk before you hose your system. If you want to stern up data files, put the on a compact disc or DVD
