Why won't my alien not easy drive endorse my recovery disk?
, I've had my laptop for almost a 1 year and a half and my knotty drive crashed. It was stuck surrounded by a reboot cycle and wouldn't work at all. So I bought a unsullied 120GB Segate hard drive. I installed it, and my knees top stops its rebooting cycle, thank god. I put in my Windows Vista recovery disk to reformat my frozen drive, and nothing happen. I just bring back a black screen. Any suggestions on what I could be doing wrong, or do I want to just make a contribution in and spend insane amounts at Geek Squad and own them do it for me?

You will have to boot into the computers bios and be paid sure the boot order is set to boot from the CD/DvD drive first and the tough drive second. Save and exit the bios and try again.
Tapping F12, F2, or the delete key inwardly the first few seconds after turning your computer on should seize you to the bios. Sometimes it gives you the choices at the bottom of the blind.
You might need to format the drive first,
it should own come with a disk; run the format tool on the disk and try again;
Also verify that the disc / DVD you are inserting is actually a restore disk.

Its obvious sturdy drives dont come with an OS; the OP is asking how to nouns a OS onto a hard drive.
Does your contemporary hard drive own an OS ( operating system) in it ? ie Vista , XP ? ..If you buy a unusual hard drive you must install a OS ...The recovery disc is not a OS so its useless ...
You can't purely go out and buy a thorny drive and expect it to work ...Computers only work if they a enjoy a OS system ...
Well you can't make your laptop work beside a blank hard drive , you call for to install an OS on it to make your PC work .....
