HELP! record recovery! I COULD KILL MY COMPUTER.?

ON MICAROSOFT EXCEL, I ACCIDENTALLY CLOSED A FILE DONE, AND I SAVED HALF WAY THROUGH. CAN I GET IT BACK DONE INSTEAD OF LOADING IT HALF DONE. please tell me i can. I SWEAR IM ABOUT TO SHOOT MY DAM COMPUTER

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bleak news, but it is gone. If you didn't in fact save the final reworked copy, the final version will not exist on the disk. Memory is re-used too swiftly to recover anything useful.

Shooting your computer will do no perfect. I'm sure it asked you to save the report before you closed. It's hand error.

There is a way to comfort with this within the future. Checking Excel 2000, out of the box, Excel does not hold autosave. You can turn on the Autosave add-in. Go to Tools, Add-Ins and check Autosave. With auto save on, you can set Excel to automatically pick up your worksheet every so many minutes.
Try this to recover Excel folder..

Open Excel...Go to file Open....afterwards go to MY Recent Documents...or History... You should be capable of find something there..goodluck!

Microsoft Office applications own an autosave feature available to them heres how to use it:
(not sure which text of excel your using so I'll post the main 2 ways)

Excel 2000:
1. In Excel goto the Tools menu
2. Click Add-Ins.
3. In the Add-Ins dialog box, select the AutoSave check box,
4. click OK.

Excel XP/2003
1. In Excel goto the Tools menu,
2. Click Options,
3. Click the Save tab.
4. Select the "Save AutoRecover info every" check box.
5. In the minutes box, specify what inverval (in minutes) you want Excel to recover your work.

note: Autosave merely saves into the current profile. (it doesnt make a backup file)
