Microsoft Word directory recovery within Windows XP?
I've searched everywhere I know to look on my computer for Microsoft Word documents from in the region of a month ago, but it looks like I delete them from two folders where I have copies. I'm REALLY needing to find these files rather so I can invoice a client for an editing job. Is this possible surrounded by XP, or should I jump fund to Windows ME on my desktop model?

There is a few demo programs on Download.com that will let you know if they can recover your delete files, if they can, they will charge you. OnTrack is a good one. Otherwise, I would suggest consulting a local notes recovery expert for a qoute.

Did you try a "Search" through Windows? (Start > Search). Use the advanced options and flush for unusual or unique words that be contained in your documents? This will lend a hand you find it if was inadvertantly save under a completely different identify for some reason. Sometimes they can be save some place that you would not think to look?

Finally, you might want to try a utility such as Undelete Plus (free) (http://www.undelete-plus.com/) - which can search your concrete drive for deleted files that own been empty from the recycle bin. Sometimes, if you can recover documents this way.
However, if you regularly act disk defragmentation, you may be less feasible to recover the file, because it would own been more probable to be overwritten by relocating fragmented files.
