How can I recover information from this frozen drive? - unmountable boot volume error?

My HP Pavilion ze2000 was working fine later night. This morning I re-booted it and get the blue screen of loss with the message unmountable boot volume error. I did the instructed chkdsk /p & fixboot. Then I tried the chkdsk /r. I in a minute how the error message - The volume appears to contain one or more unrecoverable problems.
So at this point before I do anything else, I want the facts (mostly pictures) off the concrete drive. Can I plug the hard drive into my PC and how would I do that? I'm assuming that my drive is impossible, so I don't want to do anymore damage. Do I want a USB hard drive paddock or can I just unplug my compact disc drive and plug in this behind the times drive?
Answers:
got the window disk?
boot from it, and when promted, press r for repair, then log into the window volume.
at the command prompt, type without quotes"sfc /scannow" there's a space between the c and the /
I guess you can connect the drive via teh ide cable from your compact disc...but you would prob have to reset the pullover on teh back of the to SLAVE. You won't do any mar to the rest of the PC.

Obviously you will have to fit another Harddrive to replace the broken one, and hold windows up and running bad that before it will recognise the dated drive! Alternatively...get a settle to usb cable assy which comes with a power MOLEX nouns, and simply plug that into a mates PC USB port. (in this overnight case you would have to set the pullover to Master probably) Then you coudl transfer the pics and date to a folder on your pal PC and burn that to a DVD?
This happened to me also.. i made it worse by trying to fix it.. so i lost adjectives my data and also my concrete disk.. this is what i can i say.. stop loading the system from ur tough disk... because every time you load it and turn it sour without proper shutdown it fashion it more worse.. you have to plug it surrounded by to a different computer as a secondary sturdy disk and try to get the notes out of it.. because the IDE connector in laptop frozen disk is different from the normal desktop IDE you own to find a converter.. i seen one but i don't know they are within market.. but else u can find a USB converter cable where on earth u can plug in ur laptop thorny disk in to one conclusion and connect the usb port in a other computer.. so i cogitate u better ask someone to help.. don't try to use the bleak hard disk and it will generate things more bad.. try to hold out ur data... and you may enjoy to buy a new HD ....desire you all the best
