Please give a hand! How can I recover my notes from vista from cmd prompt?
Apparently my sony vaio vgn fz series laptop with Vista detected a virus so it approved to comit suicide and give me the blue peak of death and crash. Before it died it said "Windows have Detected a Virus" and then it go to the BSOD. I can't start windows at adjectives now. I've tried starting "near last certain good configuration" and within safe mode...neither work. .
I downloaded a startup repair disk on another computer, and booted from the cd on my laptop. It run the startup repair, which worked once...and then my computer crashed again. Now it doesnt' oblige at all
I can draw from to the command prompt on the repair disk. Is there any opening I can transfer a folder onto an external hard-drive using dos nouns so I can back up some of my files (ie my documents) for a format?
Also, how can I do a factory wipe in need my windows install disk?
Or does anyone hold a different suggestion?
THanks!
"> ok here are a few basic nouns for copying:
copy [from] [to] - You can copy all files by using a wildcard (*) within the from space
cd [directory] - takes you from one directory to another, use ../ to step back a directory
dir /s * - Lists adjectives files in a directory, you can replace the * beside *.doc or any extension to list simply files with that extension
mkdir [name] - Create a directory
To jump to another drive, just type the drive dispatch (lowercase) then a colon (so freshly type "d:" to go to drive D)
example (this copies your entire home directory (where you put your second-hand goods (aka my docs, etc)) to drive D after creating a directory to back it up to):
C:\Users\Bob> d:
D:\> mkdir Backup
D:\> c:
C:\> cd Users\Bob
C:\Users\Bob> copy * D:\Backup
To do a complete wipe (assuming you are not worried in the order of secure directory deletion) just download the GParted live compact disc, delete all the partition, then boot to your window install disk to reinstall windows. (Note. You ANY window install disk will do the same piece, what matters is the drivers). Source(s): DOS nouns:
