I hold a Maxtor One touch 4 Mini and sometime the USB plug broke bad by happenstance. How can i recover the notes?
I had this 320 GB drive for one and only 8 months. The data inside are vital as my computer itself almost not has rooms to store file files and I used the drive for pretty much everything. I found out that I can simply remove the outer exterior shell and to extract the harddrive and the small silicon chip attached to it, which is also the location where the USB plug attached broke stale. I know that geeks out there its a piece of cake to work it out, but I'm not and I am seeking counsel to recover my valuable information.

I would be thinking in expressions of buying a new USB plug (yes, you can draw from them) and soldering 4 wires to the original connections. If you are not up to this exercise lift it along to your local TV/electronic repair shop for an opinion. If it is at adjectives possible it will not be expensive to do that.
If you have an extra Serial ATA cable (like the one that connects your unyielding drive to your motherboard) and an extra SATA power cable to play with, you can lately pop off the cover and the usb controller ("silicon chip attached to it") and hook it up to your computer directly. Should work fine consequently. Just hook it up so your Maxtor looks like your other complex drive. Lemme know if this helps.
