Trying to recover facts from a unyielding disk problem?

This is a 2.5" hard disk. When connected via USB to look at the disk, it freezes my laptop or desktop. It contains big data which I requirement to recover and was the inspired operating disk running XP home but became blemished with error messages such as "not equal" on a blue peak.
Answers:
What you could do, since I think the System crashed, is to use a live operating system, approaching Linux which boots from CD and you do not involve to install it and you will be able to see adjectives the data you enjoy in your complicated drive even if you have window fatal error and it is out of order any more.

The way it works is, you download a free Operating System similar to Linux, burn to a CD or you can gain a read CD, google Linux and consequently u power up you computer and before it start press F8, or F12 it depends on the computer to see the boot menu and you pick the disc and u will be able to see adjectives the data and u could copy do anything,
Good luck
There are programmes which you can check out (google hard disk facts recovery) which will analyse what can be recovered and you only buy when it shows you the files it can attain at. As previous answerer has said you will stipulation to attach disc as a slave first. Source(s): 2 very expensive knotty disc failures within the last 6 months. Now get a RAID system
you may be out of luck
First, try a different usb interface to make sure it is not the problem

Try the hdd surrounded by the laptop and boot into a live linux environment via a bootable cd (try dsl ftp://ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distribution…

Otherwise, your choices largely lie within the world of data recovery services - which can be fairly expensive

Good Luck!
Try connecting it as a slave drive in your desktop. Even if the mountings do not contest as this is only a intervening thing in recent times make sure that the jumper are correct for a slave and that the electric circuit board is clear of any other metal. As a temp fix use cardboard to keep it clear.
