How to recover thorny drive facts?
I used a program called testdisk and could display the files. Then when I went fund and ran it again, I could one and only view one specific folder. I really have need of the data does anyone know why testdisk single shows me one folder now?

Generally these programs (if they are any polite at all) are write only (won't erase anything unlike the above poster implied), and you would be better past its sell-by date using a better program. I recommend checking out www.freehdrepair.com for suggestions.
if you continue to use the drive eventually you won't know how to restore anything because data keep getting written. I don't know what testdisk is try using a better restore program.
