Can i recover notes that from an prehistoric computer that run XP after i've installed Ubuntu OS from linux?

The computer crashed and i didn't have the prehistoric XP disk to reinstall, so I used Linux instead. I really don't know how to use it very capably but when searching through the an assortment of folders I have found a few of my matured pictures, music and videos but no outmoded programs. How can i see how much of the old information from my hard drive be not erased by the installation so i can get it some of the stuff subsidise??
Answers:
Any Windows files you can see will normally be surrounded by the original drive. If you allowed ubuntu to nouns over any of the Windows system it is gone for good, the Linux database system is totally different from Windows.
well window and linux use two different types of filesystems....

so I'm not too sure........
If you still have "some" of the files contained by the hard drive, it funds that you still have "all" of the files contained by your hard drive.

It's simply a matter of whether you know where on earth to look. If none of the files from Xp is deleted, I don't presume you deleted the Xp divider, which means that the notes inside Xp is kept intact. Ubuntu simply made another separate partition to hold on to its data and operate.

So, to answer your question, yes, you can draw from all of your files rear. If you understand how the report paths work contained by Windows, it should be fairly comfortable to find the files you're looking for.

If you don't, I'd think those files that are kept inside your "My Documents" folder within Windows Xp, would now be kept inside C:\ Documents and Settings\My Documents

Or something to that extent.

I hope this help!

Edit: Also, I forgot to mention this. If you have more than one wall in Xp, Ubuntu might hold deleted your Xp screen. If this is the case, adjectives the files in the Xp hedge is deleted and I don't come up with there's a way to recover any of the files that are rewritten.
