Anyone out here know how much it costs to recover the background from a laptop firm drive?
Here's what happened: I accidently bumped the power cable and it come out of the wall. Next thing I know, whenever I turn on my Laptop it keep reseting itself before it hits window. I took it to a local repair shop and the guy said he couldn't seem to access any background from the drive. Does anyone out there come up with a power spike may have physically undermined the drive? How much is data recovery?
Answers:
Depends on the destruction but usually runs about $50. If the guy at the computer shop couldn't access anything next your drive may be dead and you can't recover anything from that since they use like methods he tried as they do to recover your info.
Data recovery is hideously expensive if you use one of the standard companies.
You might try calling around in your nouns and see if you can find an independent shop with someone who is pretty devout at it; some techs think it's fun to do recovery and enjoy amassed a lot of tools. Franchise repair places won't do it.
There are two possibilities. Most possible is that it lost power while doing some write operation, and a data association was lost or some critical folder was undermined. This can be fixed with recovery procedures that replace the tatty files.
Second most likely is some interfere with was done to the circuits on the complicated drive. This can be determined by making sure it spins up and can be recognized by the BIOS. If not, afterwards there is probable deface to the controller card on the drive. To recover data would embezzle a replacement controller card from an identical drive.
