How to recover lost files from rock-hard drive after reprogram and information overwrite?

i have not long got a virus and a friend of mine reprogrammed my workstation with xp sp2, not knowing that i hold partitioned my hd (40GB and 110GB) and accidentally wiped out adjectives my data (appz, pics, docs, mp3, vids etc) within my 110GB. now my other friend tries to recover som of the info and reprogrammed it near xp sp3. we used "GetDataBack for NTFS v3.03" and got solitary part of my notes back. the files we have recovered are put back within the 110GB Drive. Now is there any approach possible to recover my photos (.JPG) back from the 110GB hd? at adjectives? we recovered some .jpg but som were corrupted and show "no preview". so can they be repaired surrounded by any way? appreciation in mortgage.

There are programs that can recover data but it looks close to you have tried that. If the notes has physically be overwritten then lone partial segments of files are available and it is notably unlikely you can recover anymore than you already have.

I would put it down to experience and remember to support up regularly in the adjectives.
