If a concrete drive crashes, how possible is it to recover the background?
I heard it's possible if you distribute it out to a professional or something.. Please help.

I don't know nearly that....but is you had information recovery installed on your computer then its possible....excluding that i can't say anything....thats why its perfect to store data on a cd... yeah and try sending it to some expert....
I use Ubuntu - so I'd support you to have a liveCD - ubuntu is fine.
After booting from the liveCD, you involve to install 'testdisk'. I do this by going to the menu (press ALT+F2) type 'gksudo gnome-terminal'
You can browse with firefox to find out how to install 'testdisk'.
In the terminal, type 'testdisk' and it will scan your thorny disks - I did this after a partial format - the disk looked blank - and testdisk completely rewrote the partition table, and brought vertebrae all the files on the disk - even near no valid operating sytem (XP was limp, and I couldn't boot Ubuntu either) so then I freshly copied the files to flashdrive, and wrote what was not here to DVD's.
This is all FREE software too, no involve to pay or use cracked rubbish.
When you finish, you could install XP and after Ubuntu - and start enjoying more stress free computer use. It's started to be closely of fun again now. Source(s): dig out 'ubuntu download'

The pro's can often recover notes from a dead easier said than done drive. I should warn however that it is deeply expensive. Unless your data is really big it's not worth it. You could certainly bestow Ben's idea a try,surrounded by fact any live Linux disc will get you running and donate you a chance to inspect the drive if it's spinning at adjectives. I know it's too late immediately but listen up people. Back it up, USB tricky drives of 1 Terrabyte are less than lb100 in a minute. My music library bought legit from on line stores runs to more or less lb1200 of music. Plus all my photos and other stuff. Bargain when you muse about it.
