How can i recover notes from a crashed easier said than done drive?

Ran the test for window, and im getting the message "no bootable drive found". All my data is still on the computer - i enjoy loads of homework and music on that thing and i really dont want to lose it. I am on a laptop btw too.

I enjoy at my disposal: Another computer (desktop with window as well) and an external hard drive (250GB)

Is nearby some way i can bring my data wager on (for free, haha)??

Thanks so much!!

Very easy
Take the broken computer HD and place it as a slave drive on the polite computer. Make sure the settings on the broken computer HD are of a slave and NOT as a master.
Once back within Windows with the virtuous computer open "My Computer" god and you will see the hard drive within. Double click and it will open.

If by any coincidence it says that it can not be embark on, you will have to pinch permission to do so:

On "My Computer" find the tools tab on top and get underway "Folder Options."
Click on the view tab and find adjectives the way down that little skylight where it say; "Use Single File Sharing." if it has a check inscribe un-check it.
Then you have to right click on the HD deity you want to open, after go to properties, find the surety tab, go to "Advance" find the "permission" tab, press "Add" after go to "advance" next "Find Now" your name on it and elevated lite your name, consequently hit OK and hit OK again, and OK again. open the folder.

Good Luck
Unless you can spin it up and mount it as an accessible profile system, you are looking at a costly data recovery go.

Does the disk device show up at all within the BIOS or POST messages? If you can see the device, maybe in recent times the MBR (master boot record) is corrupted (which means you could potentially recover this).
If the crashed electrical device has a disc reader, you can try a "trial" version of Ubuntu, what we phone up a LiveCD. See if that boots your computer. If it does, you should be able to find to c:/

You have to download an .iso after burn the CD, or obtain the CD from a friend. But at most minuscule this idea won't cost deeply of money just to try it. Source(s): http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download
