How can I recover information from a password protected thorny drive?

I have a laptop which have bitten the dust. I got a tough drive enclosure to recover the pictures I hold stored on it. Only problem is - The Windows XP account which they be stored in be protected with a password and the complex drive will not let me access it. Is within anywhere I can put in the password or any channel around this security part? Reinstalling the hard drive contained by the machine isn't an route (its completely dead) Thanks!
Answers:
if you use an enclosure window will see it as a second drive. You should not have to verbs, unless it is fully encrypted.
