How can I recover notes from a dog-eared compact disc?
The files are all JPG, but when it open in explorer the record names appear, but no preview or thumb staple appears, and then the full thing hang when I click on any file cross.

If it hangs using Explorer next why not try in MS DOS. You could use the "xcopy" command and copy adjectives the files to your computer. To learn how the xcopy function works type "HELP XCOPY" within the command line. It is sure to copy in need hanging.

i have this once, when it happened to me the disc hadnt be "closed" on the PC that wrote it, difficult to resolve, i had to turn back to the mechanism where the disc be written and run the burner program and "close" the disc

I would try to use a facts recovery program. I have used StompSoft's Recover Lost Data for some time presently and have have great success recovering pictures, emails and other assorted files. Check to see if the CD is physically damaged--we're discussion deep scratch or foreign substances or deformations to the label. Hold the disc up to a light--if you can see light through the sign, you're screwed--there's nothing you can do. For shallow scratches use a toothpaste rub...verbs it off previously you put it in the compact disc tray
