How can I recover notes from my non-working firm drive?
We had a printer attached to our front USB port, and our daughter come in, and tripped over the cable. Unfortunately, this broke the USB, the pins touched, cause a short circuit, resulting in the power supply, motherboard, and tough drive to be damaged. We have not backed up the background (I know, I know!), and would like to retrieve the notes if possible. Unfortunately, when the tattered hard drive is connected to another computer, it does not work, as it must enjoy blown some of the circuits. Is there any bearing to retrieve the data on the disk, as it have our holiday pictures from Florida last year (as resourcefully as other stuff)?
Answers:
A hard disk will not work surrounded by another computer if it is set to master as the PC's primary drive is usually a master. Look at the jumper settings on the easier said than done disk and either move the jersey to slave position or if there is no mode pullover on the disk, put a jumper on to the slave pins and try again. You will usually see the pullover pins next to the IDE connector block on the disk Source(s): experienced PC builder
yes, it is possible to recover your rugged drive...but unfortunately it Will cost you. you can any buy software which is expensive, but you can get another company to do if for you, for a allowance. Source(s): www.tech1repair.com
First off - if the problem is not power-driven but just that your computer can't read the drive i.e. the article hic-cups and makes noise but doesn't let you seize to the data, after there is a freeware program call PC Inspector File recovery. This works well and I hold used it a few times. If you enter http://www.pcinspector.de/file_recovery/… in the address tablet that will take to their site.
If the drive is purely dead and will not do a item then I am afraid it will cost money to acquire back the facts. One such company is called Ontrack & the tel. is 0800 243 996
Good luck!!
I don't totally construe the last bit. Have you installed this drive as a slave drive in another computer?? It should work, the USB cannot incentive any problem to the hard drive, even if the motherboard be physically damaged. You should know how to slave it to ANY other computer and pull your files past its sell-by date. If not I would call the businessman and explain the situation, they may have some process of opening the drive and retrieving the notes (at a price of course.)
how do you connect it, as a second drive, or contained by a usb enclosure.
if it is installed right and cannot work, it won't spin or isn't famous, it might just obligation a new pcb board. Email me, or IM I will see if I can facilitate more
1st off a simple mech oral exam connect the drive to a power supply no ribbon cable connect switch on the supply or computer either and place your foot actually on the defence on the hard drive. If it try to do any entity you should be able to quality smallish movements coming from the drive/its casing. This will weather its working surrounded by that's sense. If it is then you might know how to get the background off but its knotty to tell. If you know any body who have a Linux box get to mount it and see if they can do anything back you take it to a specialist.
In closely of cases Linux will happily read a window's drive folder system with out any fuss.
Then you might know how to get your pics past its sell-by date.
