Any mode to recover Data on WD2500?
My computer crashed, and somehow managed to thieve my 250 gig external tricky drive along with it. I've tried plugging the drive into other computers, both Windows and Mac operating systems, and neither can access the drive. The drive doesn't even show up as a drive on window computers, yet the device supervisor recognizes it and say it is working properly. For this reason, I cannot run any sort of scandisk, checkdisck, or any other disk repair program, since the computer doesn't appear to know that the drive is connected. I'm currently running Linux/Ubuntu on my crashed computer, and am able to access that computer's drive and recover some of my facts, but even the Linux OS can't open the external drive. That man said, does anyone know of a way to access this damned external drive or if it can be fixed lacking sending it away somewhere? Thanks
"> take the external hd into best buy and own geek squad recover it.
It may be that the data on the Main Boot Record, be corrupted. It may just entail repairing
