HDD Issues and recovering notes?
Having trouble recovering data stale a non-bootable HDD.
Friends laptop HDD became corrupt just now and I was asked to attempt to verbs as much data past its sell-by date as possible.
First I noted what the problem was, it be a boot disk error, didnt think much of it
I attempted to use a Live compact disc of ubuntu with no avail, the system would not nouns up to any sort of GUI
Next I removed the drive and put it in my laptop, once again, system would suspend on the windows vista logo
Last I tried using Ubuntu on my Laptop beside the corrupt HDD in. For some basis it kept wanted to read to the corrupt HDD.
Does anyone know how I can salvage any files past its sell-by date this drive?
Btw, im using vista//ubuntu as my OS.
Answers:
If possible, use your Desktop. Connect the corrupted HDD to your desktop. It should install, once installed remove as much information as possible. If necessary, use Recuva to restore delete or lost files.
