How can I recover delete files and history on my computer?

did you try looking in your recycle bin all the same? if you didn't permanently delete the files they are still surrounded by there and you can recover them. or you can try system restore, which brings your computer put money on to a certain date surrounded by time.
If these are personal files, do like what be suggested the recycle bin. However, a misconception with system restore is that it will recover personal files as all right as system files.
