Best system recovery software?

Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Backup is this any good? Ive tried true representation and Ghost but I dont really like those 2, here must be a good one, computers that come next to recovery cds recover the system really fast, what software can I use to recover nippy?

Id like one that will setup within 20 min or less, my laptops recovery sets up surrounded by 15 min and its alot of stuff along with the XP home OS, I only want to make one beside my desktop computer with the drivers because installing window XP then the driverws take about a hour and a partially!
You're getting your System Restore confused with System Backup.

System Restore quit your documents, pics, music alone. It restores system information back to back you screwed something up with a possible download of something. Anytime you System Restore it will stir back to in the past you downloaded a lousy driver from a worthless freeware program somewhere.

System Backup is when you use Acronis (or facsimile) to image your rugged drive. This saves adjectives system files, OS, documents, pics, everything exactly the way you have it before you screwed the system up or happen to lose your pictures or music, etc. etc.

I have mine set up similar to this:

Master drive is set to 4 partitions---1. System, 2. Programs, 3. Documents/Pictures/Music, 4. Video. I image respectively individually with Acronis and put the representation on an external hard drive. That method if the system screws up I single have to portrait over the System partition. And impossible to tell apart goes for the other ones.

If you draw from Acronis you must fix a bootable cd in baggage your system fails and you lose the Acronis program and can't unscrew it. (Would be a good impression to put it on external drive also).

Acronis makes it much easier to do this within that if you have a 400 GB Master drive and you want to imitation your stuff to a 150 GB ext. drive, you can do it rather than cloning the entire drive, whether it have anything on it or not.

Or you could put in a cheapo 30 GB Master drive and a 400 GB (or whatever) slave drive for everything else. But you'd still want to logo all of your partition in both drives to another drive. (Safest way). Source(s): Keep contained by mind that if you try to quickly rid yourself of a virus by using System Restore, you'll probably still hold it in the Restore files and registry somewhere. It'll still be on your domestic device unless you restore to a time that you're SURE you didn't have a virus. Then after you've Restored delete adjectives restore points, reboot and set a new restore point.

With a system backup (takes longer) you can be sure that you're not carrying any virus back over to the Master Drive.....IF YOU SCAN and verbs your drive up BEFORE you image it.
