Can autochk.exe on D:/ (my recovery drive) on Vista be a trojan horse? AV software warn. Need confirmation.?

My comp. came factory installed near a 10gb recovery partition (D:/ drive) . Avast Anti-Virus software say it's a possible trojan horse, but I'm not sure since it's a necessary system database & in the right location for that drive. I've not notice any unusual behaviors, unnecessary processes or lags...yet. Should I discount or is there a course to re-install the autochk.exe file to be sure? I've looked adjectives over the tech forums and such. Can't find solid answer. Sorry for n00b question.

hi guys, bright situation

the AntiVir warned me that the Autochk.exe is a trojan horse, afterwards I searched and found out I get two Autochk.exe in my c:\windows, one is surrounded by c:\windows\system32\en-US, the other is in C:\Windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft-windows-… I be warned beside the latter one.

my laptop: vista32 home premium, just brought it home closing week, haven't installed a lot however.
Autochk.exe it's a legitimate database of the windows nt famiily. If its working doomed to failure it makes sense hold become corrupted by virus.
Allthough i won't trust so much on Avast, because i have used it and see how let the virus pass to my computers freely.
Read www.av-comparatives.org roughly false alarms in which avast is a total victor.

Try the world's leader instead, Antivir from Avira.com and read out good bye to that problem.

Kiss.
Some programs are renowned as viruses-because they can alter things in your computer-I would run a other virus program similar to AVG (free) just to build sure.
But don't run them together-the same time.
Have you felt any transformation in your computer lately? Is this the first time you've used Avast? I honestly doubt that the profile is any danger. Although files on the HP Recovery drive can be altered, it would be a rubbish of time for someone to make a Trojan to target in attendance, since Windows doesn't ever use the drive. If I were you, I would merely ignore it If your not sure. Good Luck!
