I used my recovery discs on my laptop. is in attendance FREE software to recover lost files?

i thought i bakced up my files, but i guess i didnt. i lost ALL of my music :(
i called a few places, they be charging at least a few hundred bucks. i in recent times want some free software to recover my lost music. please help me.
